The foliage of the Variegated Century Plant, a type of Agave, features a unique shape and sharp spikes. Leaves stem from a central stalk, arching out and taking on a curved shape. The twisted leaves are striped with cream and yellow variegation that contrasts vibrantly against the opposing green color.

Planting & Care

Planting: Plant your Variegated Century Plant in a location that has full to partial sun. Although this plant is adaptive to a variety of soil types, it will thrive in sandy or well draining soils. To plant, dig a hole that is 2-3 times the width and an inch less than the depth of the pot it arrived in. Using your fingers, gently loosen the roots. Backfill the dirt, allowing a slight mound around the base of the plant. Water immediately to allow the soil to settle.

If you wish to plant your Variegated Century Plant in a container, choose a pot that is twice as large as the container it arrived in and place it in a sunny location.

Watering: Water your Variegated Century Plant once every 3 days until it is established. Once established, water 1 time per week. Over watering will cause the roots to rot. Adjust water frequency as needed and don’t over water.

Fertilizer: Fertilize your Variegated Century Plant with a granulated time-release fertilizer once a year in the spring.
