An ethereal vision of white variegation

Imagine wandering through your garden and catching sight of delicate green, white, and pink leaves shimmering in the light—this striking Japanese Maple steals the show with its beautiful variegated foliage. Not only is it one of the most captivating white variegated upright varieties, but its ethereal effect is heightened when viewed from a distance, creating an enchanting focal point in any shady garden space. As it matures, this tree reaches a height of 16 feet, offering both presence and grace, making it perfect for a centerpiece or a stunning backdrop to your outdoor sanctuary.

What’s remarkable is how this tree transforms its surroundings. The unique color combination of its leaves creates a serene and inviting atmosphere, attracting eyes without overwhelming surrounding plants. Whether you're looking to elevate a quiet corner or add a striking vertical element to your landscape, this tree fits the bill beautifully. Its compatibility with various shade-loving companions means it can harmoniously coexist with a multitude of garden styles and themes.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Choose a location that receives partial shade to ensure the vibrant colors of the foliage are preserved. Dig a hole that is twice as wide and as deep as the root ball, amending the soil with organic matter for better drainage. Place the tree in the hole, backfill with soil, and spread a 3” layer of mulch three feet around the tree. Water thoroughly.

2. Watering: Regular watering is essential during the first growing season to establish strong roots. Aim for consistent moisture but avoid waterlogging, as this tree prefers well-drained soil. Once established, you can reduce watering frequency while ensuring it receives enough hydration during dry spells.

3. Pruning: Minimal pruning is required, making it low maintenance. Focus on removing any dead or crossing branches to maintain its attractive shape. This is best done in late winter or early spring before the new growth begins.

4. Fertilizing: Fertilizing should be done in early spring before new growth starts. Use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to promote healthy foliage without over-fertilizing, which can harm delicate roots.
