Sunshine Pine Bush

Golden foliage with easygoing appeal

Sunshine Bush brings bright golden-yellow foliage to the landscape, creating year-round color in warmer climates and long-lasting seasonal interest in cooler areas. Its dense, tidy growth makes it useful as a low hedge, foundation planting, border accent, or colorful contrast to darker evergreens.

This low-maintenance shrub develops its best color in full sun and tolerates heat and short dry periods once established. It adds structure and brightness without relying on flowers, making it a dependable choice for an inviting, polished yard.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location with full sun and well-draining soil. Dig a hole about twice as wide as the root ball and no deeper, then backfill and water thoroughly. Allow enough room for the shrub to reach its mature size.

2. Watering: Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season, allowing the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings. Once established, water during extended hot or dry periods. Avoid consistently soggy soil.

3. Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring to shape the plant and remove damaged or crowded branches. Light trimming during the growing season can maintain a neat hedge or compact form.

4. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release shrub fertilizer in early spring according to label directions. Avoid excessive feeding, which can encourage weak growth and reduce the intensity of the foliage color.
