Outback Sunrise Emu

Evergreen Groundcover Thrives in Extreme Heat

The Outback Sunrise Emu was originally discovered in dry areas all over Western Australia. It has since become a durable, drought-tolerant ground cover ideal for rock gardens and various garden spaces across the globe!

Enjoy watching this unique evergreen variety spread up to 12 feet wide and boast pretty yellow flowers throughout the spring and summer. In addition, while the Outback Sunrise Emu loves the sun, it also flourishes in shady spots, making it the perfect plant to fill up the open spaces in your yard!

Another benefit? Our Outback Sunrise Emu plant has a high tolerance for sun, salt, and alkaline conditions, which means you can easily plant it near the coast. We also love that it’s drought-resistant and grows rather quickly - without all the hard work.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant your Outback Sunrise Emu in full sun or part sun in well-drained soil. Dig a hole that is 2-3 times wider and the same depth as the container the plant was shipped in. Remove the plant from the shipping container, loosen the roots gently with your fingers, and then place it in the hole. Gently backfill the dirt and water immediately.

2. Watering: Continue to water the plant regularly until it is well established. This plant is drought tolerant and will still thrive without frequent irrigation. But for best results, water occasionally to maintain spread.
