Double The Sun Coreopsis Plant

A stunning display of double yellow blooms

If you're looking to brighten your garden, consider adding a delightful splash of double yellow flowers that bloom from June to September. This native cultivar is a dwarf version of 'Early Sunrise,' featuring a heavier bloom that creates an eye-catching display throughout the summer months. With its cheerful petals dancing in the sunlight, it draws in pollinators and elevates any landscape, making it a perfect choice for garden beds, borders, or even container gardens.

Not only does this plant bring beauty, but it's also easy to care for and remarkably tolerant of average to dry soils. Its robust nature allows it to thrive in heat and humidity. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting, its vibrant colors and sprawling blooms will add cheerful charm to your outdoor space.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location with full sun for at least six hours a day. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep, gently placing the plant in the hole and covering it with soil to the original soil line. Water thoroughly after planting.

2. Watering: Water the plant deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between watering sessions. Once established, it is tolerant of average to dry soils, so you won't need to overwater.

3. Pruning: To encourage more blooms, deadhead spent flowers throughout the growing season. In late fall, cut back the stems to about 4 inches to prepare for winter dormancy. This helps stimulate fresh growth in spring.

4. Fertilizing: Fertilize with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring when new growth begins to emerge. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers as they can lead to more foliage than flowers.
